Our History

In 1979, we opened Roadway Pharmacy because we saw an area where families weren't being adequately served with healthcare products and services.

Over the years, we have constantly worked hard to better meet that need. In the early days, we used a manual typewriter for each prescription label, and we filled our forms by hand. Today we are completely computerized. We've expanded our product lines, adding durable medical equipment, dressings, diabetic shoes, and other items. With each improvement, we've brought a higher level of service to families in Westmoreland, Indiana, and Cambria counties.

We are gratified to know that others recognize our dedication to service. We're proud of our 85 percent customer retention rate, compared with about 70 percent for chain pharmacies.

When you come to Roadway Pharmacy, you become more than just a customer. We think of you as our patient.

If you don't have any more refills remaining on your prescription, we make an extra effort to contact your physician. We will synchronize your prescriptions so that you don't have to make a separate trip for each one. We will even wish you a happy birthday.

We've become friends with a lot of people in the years since we opened. In fact, some of our newest customers are the grandchildren of our first customers. We hope you and your family will be a part of Roadway Pharmacy for years to come.
